Dev Note About Skill Level Training

Dear Tibians, we have prepared another dev note for you.

We have been thinking about a new possibility to allow our players to train their skills while being online. A method to enhance your sword, axe, club, or distance fighting skill level over time, very similar to the way you can already train your magic level.

It is time to present you our design idea and provide you with a first impression of our vision.

We would like to invite you to share your thoughts, ideas and concerns about this feature. Therefore, please read through the dev note and answer the questions provided in the first comment.

Dear Tibians, as we stated in the news, we want to give you the opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas about a design concept that we are planning to introduce with the upcoming winter update.

We have prepared an example to provide you with all necessary information about the skill level training:

Please keep in mind that the following values are for illustration purposes only.

A knight, a paladin, a druid and a sorcerer start playing on a game world at the same time.

Within the next week, each vocation is going to invest the same amount of time to train a specific skill.

Both mages begin to increase their magic level by casting spells, the same way as before. Nothing changes on their end.

Similar to the process of magic level training, there is now a possibility to train your sword, axe, club, or distance fighting skill by using a new incantation.

Therefore, the knight decides to train his sword fighting skill and the paladin starts to increase his distance fighting skill.

While magic level training requires the consumption of mana points, the skill level training will reduce the health points of your character. A character must have reached a minimum amount of 610 health points to be able to properly use the skill level incantations.

Do not worry, you are not going to die during the skill level training. Below 30% of your maximum health points, your character cannot perform further skill training. From this point on, the skill training will no longer have any effect and your character will not receive skill points nor lose further health until you have regained or filled up enough health points to continue your training. E.g. by drinking health potions or by standing in regeneration areas.

At the end of the week, every vocation will have increased their trained skill to the same level. The mages will have reached magic level 40, for example. The paladin will have reached distance fighting 40 and the knight will have increased his sword fighting skill to 40 as well.

To get an idea about the progress speed during the skill level training, you can compare it to the progress speed of the magic level training or the offline training. Therefore, do not expect light speed progress during your skill level training.

In general, all vocations can use the new skill level incantations. Nevertheless, depending on your character's vocation, you will experience faster or slower progress while training certain skills.

Free account players will not be able to train their skills within protection zones. This will also affect their magic level training. Premium players on the other hand, will be able to perform their skill level training within protection zones and therefore, they can profit from existing resting areas and their bonuses.
