We plan to perform a small revamp of a few existing spells as well as the implementation of some new spells with this year's summer update.
In this context, we are thinking about adding soul points to the list of requirements to cast some of the existing and upcoming high-level spells.
We have prepared some questions for you to give you the opportunity to share your general thoughts about this topic.

A quick reminder: In addition to mana your character needs soul points to cast rune spells or certain other spells which are used to magically generate items such as ammunition or food. The maximum of soul points is 100 for normal characters, and 200 for promoted ones. If you gain experience points that equal at least your character's level for one kill, your soul points will be restored for 4 minutes. Normal characters will regain 1 soul point every 2 minutes, promoted characters will restore 1 soul point every 15 seconds. Characters also obtain one soul point for every 15 minutes they are sleeping in a bed.
Additional information concerning our plans:
Spells, which require soul point consumption are likely going to be more powerful than spells casted by mana consumption only.
Soul points consumption would only affect specific revamped and upcoming high-level spells.
Please keep in mind, this dev note is not about the spells themselves, but about the consumption of soul points as a requirement to cast some of them.
Therefore, this dev note will not provide further details on new spells or potential revamp candidates.
Everything presented in this dev note is still in development and subject to change. There is no guarantee that we will implement the soul points requirement as described here. It is also possible that it will not make it into the game at all. Please also keep in mind this dev note will only provide a rough idea of the key aspects of further soul point usage.
