BattlEye, a proactive protection system against cheating that brings along many years of experience, will be integrated into the Tibia 11 and Tibia 10 clients on March 21, 2017.
This day marks the start of a testing phase that mainly focuses on gathering and analysing data to ensure that BattlEye works smoothly and as intended. During this initial phase, BattlEye will not yet actively shield Tibia from cheating so it is likely that you do not yet experience significant changes of the botting situation ingame. Nevertheless, a few cheats, unauthorised tools and applications may already be blocked and stop working then as a side-effect of the technical integration of BattlEye.
BattlEye will be activated once it meets our quality standards and has been adapted to our needs. It will then help us in our aim to prevent cheating from happening in Tibia. Of course, you will be informed about this activation as soon as we can provide you with a reliable date.
Due to the integration of BattlEye, the BattlEye End-User License Agreement needs to be added to the Tibia Service Agreement which you have to accept before downloading a Tibia client from our website. These documents describe the terms and conditions under which you may use the client and access and play Tibia. The expanded Tibia Service Agreement including the BattlEye End-User License Agreement will become effective on March 21, 2017, but you can already check it here.
We have also compiled an FAQ to answer some of the questions you probably have and to provide you with more information about BattlEye and what his new anti-cheating measure entails.
See you in Tibia!

BattlEye is a proactive protection system against cheating which prevents most of it from happening by blocking cheats and scanning your computer's memory for cheating software. As such, it works like a shield around the game.
We have decided to use BattlEye as an additional measure in our constant fight against cheating. It will be integrated into our downloadable clients. Thus, it will be running in the background while you play Tibia.
For more information on BattlEye, you can visit the BattlEye website: https://www.battleye.com/about/.
BattlEye aims at keeping games free of cheaters. It is neither interested in nor looking through your personal files or personal information. Its sole purpose is preventing and detecting the use of cheat programs. Rest assured, that BattlEye will not collect or store information that is unrelated to the game or cheat-detecting mechanisms. Please read the respective End-User License Agreement thoroughly for more details.
This day marks the technical integration of BattlEye into our downloadable clients. Until further notice, BattlEye will then be running for testing purposes and to collect data for further analysis so that we can ensure that it works smoothly. We also plan to open the public test server for one or two days at the beginning of March to prepare this technical integration.
Please note that due to the integration of BattlEye, the installation of the Tibia 11 client will then require you to have administrative rights on the computer you are using to play Tibia. If you have Tibia 11 installed at that point of time, you will need administrative rights for the first start of the game after your client has been updated. For the Tibia 10 client, administrative rights are already necessary anyway.
As mentioned earlier, the initial phase mainly focuses on gathering and analysing data to ensure that BattlEye is working as intended. Therefore, we would like to point out that BattlEye will not yet actively shield Tibia from cheating during this phase so it is likely that you do not yet experience significant changes of the botting situation ingame. Nevertheless, a few cheats may already be blocked and stop working as a side-effect of the technical integration of BattlEye. Moreover, it may also be possible that unauthorised tools and applications such as Tibialyzer, for example, will no longer work with the official Tibia clients.
This phase will run for as long as we deem it necessary to ensure that BattlEye meets our quality standards and is adapted to our needs. We can guarantee that BattlEye will not lead to account deletions or bans during this time. Naturally, we will continue our already existing measures against cheating, though.
We will inform you about the actual activation of BattlEye as soon as we can provide you with a reliable date.
In general, we aim to prevent cheating from happening in Tibia. So once BattlEye has been activated, it will shield Tibia from cheating. Thus, it will not be possible anymore to run the game if BattlEye detects a cheating program or a client manipulation that we consider a violation of Tibia Rule 3b) Using Unofficial Software to Play.
BattlEye needs only little resources regarding CPU, RAM and network bandwidth. Thus, there should not be any noticeable performance drops due to BattlEye. Please also note that the BattlEye protection and system scan is only active when you are running the game.
BattlEye brings along many years of experience in fighting cheating in online games. Popular programs that are used by many gamers are extremely unlikely to trigger false positives. If BattlEye should prevent you from launching Tibia even though you are not using a cheat tool or a manipulated Tibia client, you can, of course, contact our customer support and ask for advice.
